Russia gas cuts have a large impact on Uniper

Energy group Uniper, which holds and conducts eight power plants all across the UK, including hard coal power plant Ratcliffe-On-Soar in Nottinghamshire, is reportedly in talks for a potential bailout.

In past weeks, the cut gas movements from Russia had a large impact on the company’s energy supplies.

It has been announced that the German Government may soon step in to support the company among the energy difficulties.

A spokesperson from Germany’s Economy Ministry stated the government and the group are presently working jointly on “stabilisation measures”.

Uniper Chief Executive stated Klaus-Dieter Maubach said the talks include possible guarantees, rising loans or even the state taking a share of the company’s equity.

The company has also abandoned its outlook for the 2022 financial year expecting its income to be significantly lower than previous years.
