Scotland fishing port supports wind projects.

The largest fishing port in Europe, situated in Scotland, recently signed a letter of interest with Falck Renewables and Bluefloat Energy in aid of offshore floating wind projects in the North Sea.

The partners will assist in exploring a multitude of development opportunities, this letter states that the port will allow it’s facilities to be used for the duration of construction and maintenance of these projects.

The post already provides allocated docks for the Hywind Scotland, situated 29 kilometres from Peterhead. The 30MW project, is also believed to be one of the worlds first commercialised wind farm that uses floating wind turbines.

The partners, Falck and Bluefloat, also aim to seal rights to further acreage in this annum’s Scotwind lease round.
