Parcels delivered using electric charged vans: The delivery service supplier DHL Express has increased its UK group by adding 50 new electric vans.
The firm said it will bring in 50 additional EVs before the end of the year as well as a further 220 before the end of 2022.
The new vehicles will be used in cities containing Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow & Birmingham.
Besides the vans, DHL intends to invest in EV charging infrastructure at over 20 sites.
Richard Crook, Director of Fleet at DHL Express, stated: “Many of the UK’s major cities are working hard to reduce emissions & improve air quality & we plan to play a major part in supporting this.”
Deutsche Post DHL Group lately reported a €7 billion (£6bn) investment to attain net zero by 2050.
The group intends to have over 80,000 EVs operating by 2030.
