It is heartening to see that $4.6 million has been given to 1,700 coal industry workers in Eastern Montana. The biome of Eastern Montana is mostly semi-arid plains, making it an excellent area for concentrated solar power farms. This sustainable solar technology could use existing turbines to generate electricity. It would create hundreds of high-paying jobs. Wind turbines could be added to the power generation mix. Wind turbine technicians earn high dollar jobs. Since the transmission grid is already built, one would expect renewable energy companies to favor investment in Eastern Montana. In theory, renewable energy jobs could be in demand for the rest of this century and centuries to come.
